What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Manager position at Hunterdon Brewing Company?
The Warehouse Manager's overall responsibility will to be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse and maintenance of the building and grounds. Also responsible for ensuring that product is properly stored and rotated in the warehouse and on the trucks.
What you'll be doing:
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations
- Order supplies including repack and maintenance products
- Schedules transfers pf product, cooperage, and pallets between warehouses
- Serves as backup in absence of Night Supervisor
- Assists on special projects as needed
Physical demands:
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate business equipment including, but not limited to, computer keyboard, telephone, adding machine and copier
- Climbing stairs and inclined surfaces on an occasional basis
- Walking on hard surfaces on a frequent basis
- Frequent exposure to temperatures ranging from 30 - 100 degrees F on a seasonal basis
- Two handed lifting of up to 40 pounds from floor to shoulder height on an occasional basis
- Two handed lifting of kegs up to 160 pounds from floor to waist.
What you will need to succeed:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to supervise 5 to 15 subordinates
- Excellent communication ability
- Read and write in order to manage warehouse and staff
- Excellent computer and Excel skills
