Environmental Services Manager

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Coordinates the activities of the EVS Supervisors and staff in assigned areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Trains, assigns and directs the work of supervisors and employees, addresses complaints and resolves problems through or in the absence of the Director.
• Monitors the quality of work to ensure that department and hospital standards are met.
• Performs evaluations and provides input/recommends hiring, firing and discipline actions.
• Documents employee training, concerns, and actions taken.
• Performs the functions of the EVS Supervisors or other staff as needed.
• Services all areas to include patients’ age newborn through geriatric.
• Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must have at least ten years previous supervisory or management experience
• Previous Environmental Services experience in a hospital setting.
• Knowledge of general housekeeping functions and chemicals
• Ability to operate standard housekeeping and floor care equipment
• Basic math and computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lead and train Supervisors and staff in all areas of environmental services

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• At least 10 years previous management experience
