JOB SUMMARY: Ensure that all guests are served to the hotel’s standard in the Restaurant / Bar / Lounge areas. Ensure the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are always demonstrated within all food and beverage areas.
Takes orders for, serves (where applicable, prepares) food and beverages to guests as per the hotel’s standards in a friendly, timely and efficient manner. Ensures guest dining experience meets hotel standards of service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets guests and presents them with the menu, informs of special items for the day and menu changes if appropriate.
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
- Enter orders on the POS machine, ensuring special requests made by the guest while ordering the food are notated.
- Coordinate with the bus person, kitchen staff, bar staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
- Server food and beverage to the guest as per the sequence of service.
- Observes guests and ensure their satisfaction with the food and service.
- Promptly respond to guest with any additional request.
- Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Understands and can communicate products and services available at the resort.
- Assist bus persons with stocking and maintaining the restaurant par stock levels and side station.
- Help other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions.
- Print closing report and drop the cash deposits per company guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lbs., independently.
- Ability to obtain a food handlers card and alcohol beverage service cards, or other applicable licensing in accordance with local food and beverage service ordinances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous food service experience in a similar dining establishment highly desirable.
- Ability to communication verbally and in writing to explain menus and place orders.
