The Area Sales Manager must know about market competition for the Tour & Travel, SMERF, and Leisure market segments. Focuses on growing revenue, increasing market share, and finding new business in the group sector for 1000 rooms in Midtown Manhattan. Increase hotel revenue by assisting an advanced level of producing group business through directly soliciting business via aggressive prospecting, making presentations, developing contracts, negotiating, and closing sales.
Job Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of three (3) years experience preferred. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
-Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals as designated by the Director of Sales
-Participate in business review meetings, training, trade shows, community events, and industry meetings
-Excellent solicitation practices using the existing customer database
-Maintain hotel relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and account revenue
-Outside sales, entertaining clients, prospecting, and cold calling
-Daily prospecting for new business to maximize revenue
-Daily follow-up sales calls and responses to inquiries are required
-Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure a high quality of service to customers
-Responsible for implementing and maintaining sales action plans for the development of the designated market segments
-Be knowledgeable of NYC, local area, and local competitive hotels and their marketing sales strategies
