Purchasing Assistant

Position Summary
Purchasing Assistant will assist with the procurement, pricing and quality of merchandise. You will review prices and quality and ensure optimal stock levels. Responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers and purchasing manager to assure timely and cost -effective delivery of product. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the office personnel, as needed.
This position will be divided into a percentage split between purchasing and office responsibilities, will be contingent on the state of business and need for demands at any given time. Depending on office needs the assistant will interface with several office personnel.
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities (not inclusive)
- Assist with order entry when needed.
- Assist with Bill of Material Creation when needed.
- Assist with Customer Trackers when needed.
- Assist with Production Order Creation when needed.
- Learn purchasing aspects of Hycom Incorporated.
- Support follow up with Past due Supplier PO’s and or needed Sales Order’s in order to fulfill customer orders.
- Assist in Receiving
- Ad hoc reports, when requested

Education and Experience

- At least 1 year of related purchasing and office administrative experience.

- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
