What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Analyst (LAM) position at Hyster-Yale Group (HYG)?
Balance production and shipment of orders versus credit limits and left in shipping
Effectively interfaces with end customers- provide information needed to ensure timely payment. Includes use of HYG and/or customer business systems to report information and/or enter invoices according to customer specification.
Maintain Latin American promissory note portfolio.
Reporting of Receivable Data, Maintenance of customer accounts and support Credit Manager in credit limit reviews and recommendations.
Review all third-party customer orders and recommend terms of sales and payment method to minimize risk of loss
Decisions Expected:
- When to hold or release orders, for production release and shipping, base on payment performance and credit limit availability.
- When to accept or reject credit terms for 3rd party purchases.
Recommendations Expected:
- When to put an account on credit hold due to payment performance & credit limit availability.
- Recommend credit line increases based on account performance & delivery commitments.
- Recommendations on small balance write-offs.
- Strategies for collections on slow pay accounts.
- Recommendations on credit limits.
Additional Information:
- Must be able to deal effectively with other department employees and Dealers management; maintain awareness of international and domestic issues that may impact dealers and customers operations and the HYG organization.
- Due to the significant amount of contact with dealers, customers and finance companies must be tactful and well organized.
Knowledge of debt collection instruments used for foreign trade receivables including site drafts, time drafts, standby letters of credit, and documentary letters of credit and understanding of Incoterms.
Knowledge of SAP/NOMS/ Microsoft
Problem-Solving and Negotiation Skills - ability to identify and investigate discrepancies in customer payments, purchase order amounts, and customer contracts as they compare to invoiced amounts; and to get the involved parties to understand and correct the root cause of the discrepancy.
PC experience, spreadsheets and word processing
HYG organizational knowledge or similar commercial business structure knowledge
Bi-Lingual-English & Spanish, area includes Latin America
Education
Bachelor’s degree - Business Administration or equivalent is preferred
3-5 years relevant experience
