Job Summary
The Shop Forman is responsible for ensuring the proper repair and servicing of all the vehicles taken in by the Services Department and maintaining Technician productivity at levels determined by services management. The task is accomplished by providing direct on-the-job assistance to Technicians, coordinating, and conducting training, inspecting jobs for proper completion, and creating an environment for high productivity trough motivational leadership and effective administration.
Essential Duties
- Work with team leaders to be sure that they are teaming individuals in the most efficient manner to assure maximum production.
- Assist the team leader or technicians with diagnostic efforts.
- Maintain technical knowledge at a level which will endure production and quality on all vehicles.
- Provide timely on-the-job assistance to technicians and teams experiencing difficulty diagnosing and/or repair vehicles.
- Provide diagnostic and test drive assistance on the services lane as needed by the service advisors or services manager.
- Review daily production of each team/technician, making certain the team is operating at shop standards for efficiency.
- Monito manufactures technical certification programs to ensure that all the dealerships technicians have the opportunity to qualify with the highest possible scores.
- Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or its customer.
- Assist services sales staff in properly documenting repair order complaint, cause and remedy information and provide diagnostic and test drive assistance on the services lane as needed by service sales staff.
- Maintain a skill summary of the technical staff and make recommendations to service management regarding technical needs.
- Perform various administrative task as directed by management.
- Keep shop equipment in safe operating condition.
- Keep shop clean and able to always account for all dealership-owned tools.
- Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardize the safety, welfare or integrity of dealership, its personnel, or customers.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
