i3 is looking for a Senior Network Architect on an effort supporting our Federal Government Client in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency’s highly complex network infrastructure environment to include multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels.
The Senior Network Architect will conceptualize, design, and develop total system or product solutions for enterprise-wide information technology or engineering/manufacturing processes. They will be responsible to translate customer and organizational objectives and critical success factors into actionable business, organization, and technology strategies. The position will create IT plans based on an understanding of the customer's organization, strategic direction, technology context, and business needs. Lead and work in a collaborative effort to conceptualize total systems and product solutions. Architect, design, and develop integrated business or engineering systems and products to support the achievement of the customer's business goals.
They must also lead others in the definition of project scope, plans, and deliverables including cost projections and proposed implementation dates. Control project requirements, scope, and change management issues. Assist leadership in determining tactical and strategic direction of the division/organization. Work with others to develop and propose new business and technical opportunities to leadership and the customer. Research, evaluate, and stay current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies. Experience in business and core technical service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead recommendations that involves engineering development, integration, and interface design analysis, installation, integration, fielding and field analysis, operation, maintenance, and testing of customers communication systems and networks hardware and software.
- Supports the local, regional, and wide area networks (WANs), and customers communication systems and networks supporting voice, video, data, and imagery information.
- Review and analyze the existing network architecture and provide designs of current/modern WAN/MAN/LAN technologies Recommends best practices such as Software Defined Network (SDN), Intent-based networking, and network segmentation protocols, etc., to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirements
- Designing telecommunications circuit specifications.
- Identify the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise services • Deliver service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations to deliver
- Develop and maintain network architecture specifications and artifacts
Requirements:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI
- 10 years of Cisco experience
- Extensive experience with Cisco routing platforms, such as Aggregation Services Routers (ASRs), and Integrated Service Routers (ISRs)
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of routing protocols and technologies including BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Layer 2 technologies including STP, MST, VLANS
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing and troubleshooting complex Local Area Networking (LAN) issues and resolving Wide Area Networking (WAN) problems and implementing, integrating, and supporting of cost-effective, high-performance IP and LAN/WAN solutions.
- Experience with network design and traffic engineering
- Experience providing senior-level engineering support and subject matter expertise
- Large enterprise environment experience
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Additional Skills and Qualifications:
- CCNP and/or CCIE Certification
- Master’s or Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud solutions
- Experience in working with Software Defined Networks
- Experience in network engineering within the federal intelligence community
- Ability to adhere to a disciplined troubleshooting methodology, and ensure task/mission completion, along with creating and maintaining necessary information
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with attention to detail
- Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
