What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at iA?
The Role:
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for applying principles of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism to develop electrical products and systems. You will also be responsible for designing electrical systems by developing and testing components.
What you'll do:
- Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by design and testing; applying knowledge of electricity and materials
- Confirms components and the system’s capabilities by designing testing methods; testing devices
- Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and understanding manufacturing and assembly methods and materials
- Assists manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from operators
- Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
- Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Keep equipment operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
- Maintains product database by writing computer programs and entering data
- Completes projects by training and guiding technicians
- Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests
- Maintains iA’s reputation by complying with federal and state regulations
What you'll bring:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering OR an A.S. with prior experience in the electrical engineering field
- Interest in PLC Programming or prior PLC programming experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
