Overview
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in the designated geographic area or site(s). The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The HR Manager acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HR Manager seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. This role supports best practices in all areas of human resources, including but not limited to: benefit administration, compensation, legal compliance, safety, employee relations, performance management, retention, training/development, and general management practices. Responsibilities are as follows:
Responsibilities
- Interacts with Exempt and Non-Exempt employees (Operations, Training, Recruitment, Quality Assurance, Information Technology, Workforce, etc.) on a daily basis to ensure a successful partnership with all functions as it relates to Human Resources concerns.
- Addresses external requests associated with legal entities such as the Department of Labor, EEOC, Unemployment Commission, and other government agencies including representing the company at applicable hearings when requested.
- Assists Operations in ensuring safety policies and procedures are in place at the respective locations to ensure and safe work environment.
- Completes, manages and submits reports, summaries and documented metrics as directed by Human Resources Management.
- Manages Leaves of Absences (LOAs) including, personal LOA, ADAAA, FMLA, Military and other leaves as applicable.
- Partners with site management to ensure consistent administration of compensation items affecting the employee population such as new hires, promotions, transfers, demotions and terminations.
- Ensures adherence to all state and local Wage and Hour Regulations and remains current on any changes therein.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Assists Operations in promoting and coordinating employee activities, special events/programs which develop teamwork, aid in retention, and creates a positive work environment.
- Provides coaching and direction to managers in all coaching to success efforts including but not limited to verbal conversations, corrective actions and separation of employment practices.
- Participates in staff meetings on weekly/monthly basis and ensures transparent and accurate distribution of all HR related communication.
- Designs and implements training and development opportunities specifically related to human resources topics as requested by the Site Director or senior management.
- Coordinates all new hire documentation, including but not limited to Form I-9, personnel action forms, and federal and local tax forms.
- Partners with the Recruiting function to ensure legal compliance in all hiring practices
- Oversees all administrative tasks related to the HR function including but not limited to, verifications of employment, NEO and all associated documentation, benefit administration and training, and maintenance of employee files.
- Responsible for training, developing, and managing performance of direct reports; providing prompt and objective coaching and counseling.
- Assists to establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or related area with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to support the Mission and Core Values of IBEX Global Solutions and act as a role model for these values to all employees of the Company, its vendors and clients.
- This position must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of Human Resources subject matter, including but not limited to: federal and state and local regulatory information, FMLA, ADAAA, ERISA, OHSA, FLSA, Workers Compensation, etc.
- Ability to provide and support the company mission, communicate with customers, clients and all levels of management, and act as a professional business partner to the aforementioned at all times.
- An acute attention to detail, problem-solving, multi-tasking and the ability to prioritize objectives and daily tasks to meet multiple deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS Management.
Specialized Training and Certifications:
PHR or SPHR preferred.
Business Travel Required:
20% travel in the U.S., may be requested to perform international travel on voluntary basis.
Working Conditions:
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smart phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other presentation materials. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to point, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. This is a full time position. Must be able to work a flexible schedule in excess of 40 hours a week as business needs arise.
