The Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) owns IBM’s IT strategy and provides the tools, workstations, devices, and infrastructure that IBMers use to do their jobs every day. Put simply, our mission is to create a productive environment for IBM's 365,000 worldwide employees. This role resides within the IT-Operations division of the CIO organization. CIO Hybrid Cloud Platforms provides the platforms and infrastructure that powers IBM, allowing business and application teams to focus on creating the digital business experiences that will drive IBM forward.
Our primary focus within CIO Hybrid Cloud Platforms is driving our CIO Hybrid Cloud strategy forward. The CIO Hybrid Cloud, built with Red Hat and IBM technologies, is the engine for the IBM cognitive enterprise. It provides the speed, scale, and security for IBM's digital business experiences, connecting data, information, and people to bring IBM into the future. We need leaders to join our team that can take an energetic, creative, and collaborative approach to helping to execute our hybrid cloud strategy, particularly around automation. Job Duties:
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled and motivated team of engineers, coordinating complex initiatives across multiple domains. You will need to:
- Run high-visibility, high-impact strategic projects (which range from technical delivery, analytics deep dives, operational efficiency, and continuous compliance)
- Focus on adopting automation across the CIO Hybrid Cloud environment
- Ensure consistency in how the solutions are rolled out and managed across the board and identify opportunities for process and tooling efficiencies
- Drive enhancements while ensuring understanding across squads, tribes, domains
- Improve the quality of programs by organizing, documenting, implementing regular cadence and keeping teams aligned
- Manage logistics of overlapping streams of work, including being a resource for team members who need help navigating the structure
- Regularly track metrics and report on strategic progress to leadership team
- Work across the organization and company to drive outcomes, align with product owners and stakeholders, mitigate risk, and deliver value to customers
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide support for escalation management, balance the business needs versus technical constraints
- Exercise technical judgment in working with large, distributed, cross-functional teams
- Communicate schedules, priorities, and status
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 years of project and program management experience
- Experience in program delivery with a strong focus on Agile methodologies, and alignment across a global, matrixed team environment
- Experience with data visualization, analytics and metrics
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Master’s Degree
- Agile Scrum Master, Product Owner Certifications
- Experience managing delivery of high-quality, high-visibility products and features
- Passion for leadership, matched by the ability to inspire your team to understand business objectives, solve customer problems, and deliver measurable outcomes
