Job Title: Operations Outreach Support

NOAA's Office of Space Commerce (OSC) has developed a data repository (system) to identify potential space debris conjunctions involving operational satellites. The Traffic Coordination System for Space (TraCSS) system will provide satellite operators with information that allows them time to take precautionary actions involving their operational satellites. This position will facilitate registration and access to the information provided by TraCSS.
Description/Scope of Work:
The Operations Outreach Support role will engage with the user community in coordination with the OSC operations staff. The candidate will work a normal day shift, performing necessary coordination and communication with the space community. This involves working with commercial service providers, satellite owner-operators, and the broader stakeholder community to facilitate registration for use of TraCSS, and provision of basic safety services. The candidate will also engage with government and commercial stakeholders on operational issues, data requirements, and organizational responsibilities.

- Engage with the user community and stakeholders
- Coordinate and communicate with OSC operations personnel
- Facilitate registration and use of TraCSS
- Provide basic safety services to meet user community needs
- Collect feedback on TraCSS data and support services
- Engage with government and commercial stakeholders on operational issues, data requirements and organizational responsibilities
- Bachelor's Degree in physical sciences or related field
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in coordination and communication roles
- Strong knowledge of space domain awareness and space situational awareness (SSA)
- Proficiency in space traffic coordination (STC) and space traffic management (STM)
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to engage effectively with a diverse user community and stakeholders
- Experience with satellite operations
- Familiarity with space situational awareness data and services
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and requirements
- This position is contingent upon award.
