iCanvas is seeking an Art Director to help develop our lifestyle brand in the next stage of our evolution.The Art Director is a newly created position on the team, reporting to iCanvas’ Marketing Director. The Art Director will manage our creative team, including our web graphic designers, print production designers, and any future freelancer/agency design resources.
The Art Director will be responsible for helping us achieve a more centralized and streamlined process that delivers a higher standard of quality across our various design teams and programs. In addition to helping us build and manage our creative team infrastructure, this person will help us launch a successful redesign in 2023. They will not only help us apply our brand’s new style guide across all existing brand touchpoints for the relaunch project but will also help shape our brand’s creative direction moving forward.
A successful Art Director for iCanvas is capable of developing efficient processes for creative tasks while managing a high standard of quality across team deliverables. They’ll feel comfortable supporting designers across multiple types of teams and needs, including processing artwork files for production; creating on-site merchandising assets; developing marketing materials for web, email, and paid channels; updating website experiences to support new development; facilitating any recommended third party partnerships; and supporting other ad hoc creative initiatives. This person can confidently lead a brand vision across new initiatives, support multiple stakeholder needs, present insight-based solutions, and receive creative feedback.

Responsibilities
- Optimize and oversee our process to onboard licensor artwork into print-ready formats for web-publishing and art print production
- Manage a team of creatives across iCanvas initiatives with an organized structure, good communication, and room for employee growth
- Guide design projects from brief through creative execution, ensuring timelines and stakeholder requirements are met
- Include any supporting wireframes, data-based insights, and UX rationale during creative review presentations to stakeholders
- Deliver on-brand design solutions for all iCanvas marketing and merchandising assets across web, social, editorial, email, print, and third party channels
- Support the evolution of the website with design updates required for new content, features, and functionalities
- Own the iCanvas brand style guide across channels, personas, and placements and the processes required to ensure guidelines are consistently met and updated as need
- Identify and implement industry best practices to help ensure successful creative designs within ecommerce
- Foster a healthy team environment passionate about creative excellence, offering assistance to team members or securing freelance talent as needed
Qualifications
- 3 years of agency experience as creative lead or Art Director working across digital channels
- 2 years of project or team management experience
- Experience creating for eCommerce/DTC brands
- An available portfolio demonstrating previous creative project work
- Demonstrated experience incorporating user experience best practices, developing mobile first designs, and data-based insights
- Mastery of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Strong experience managing digital design projects in web, e-commerce, or mobile
- Experience working with CGI / 3D and comfortable art directing that medium
- Strong experience in creating digital assets in different mediums
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high level of organization, and impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to handle aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects
- Proven track record of creative leadership and team management skills
- Ability to identify times when it is sufficient for direct reports to work remotely and when on-site meetings are more effective for team and project management
- Seasoned design familiarity with site functionality, interaction, user interface, and navigation
- Experience creating storyboards, shotlists, and directing photo/video shoots is a plus
- Experience in interior design, home furnishings, or art industries is a plus
