Our skilled nursing facility is currently seeking an Assistant Administrator/Admissions Director. This position is responsible for acquiring the necessary and appropriate information to facilitate the admission of the resident to the facility from home, hospital, or other facility and to complete the documents necessary for the admission process as well as appropriately maintaining: insurance verifications, processing PA applications, appeals and experience with Social Security applications.
Requirements:
•To manage and maintain the systems and processes associated with patient/resident financial services.
•Ability to meet admission goals for census improvement/maintenance.
• Assist residents and responsible parties with Medicaid Applications.
•To represent the facility to clients, hospitals, and community agencies, establishing a good rapport with the transferring institutions.
•Professional tact, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Maintain an accurate resident roster.
•Work with physicians and hospital discharge planners to arrange a smooth transition to the facility.
•Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, physicians, social workers, discharge planners and other referral sources.
•Analyze referrals to ensure facility can meet resident’s needs adequately.
•Facilitate a decision for admission approval and notification of admission approval timely to referring agency.
•Explain facility philosophy, policies and procedures to potential residents, new residents, and residents’ representatives.

Qualifications:
•Previous experience in Long Term Care, preferably in admissions and/or the business office
Good Organizational, planning, administrative and managerial skills
Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPA and IDPH regulations
•Must be able to read, write, and speak English
•Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
•Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
