Our clients include energy utilities, recognizable Fortune 500 corporations, and a variety of Federal, State and local governmental agencies. We are seeking an engineer to support programs focused on demonstration and deployment of new technologies for residential or non-residential energy efficiency. Expected responsibilities include, but not limited to: Carrying out implementation of utility customer energy programs focused on research and evaluation of new energy efficiency technologies. Acting as a subject matter expert in energy efficiency technologies and building design and construction, HVAC, building envelope, local, state and Federal energy codes and standards, and carbon mitigation strategies for new and existing buildings. Performing in-depth analysis of energy efficiency savings, using spreadsheets, databases, and custom programming (e.g., Python, Ruby). Reviewing literature and performing market and technology analytical research. Writing of technical materials and reports. Conveying complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences or related technical field. 4 years of relevant technical experience. Preferred Skills/Experience: Proficient quantitative and analytical skills. Knowledge and/or experience with new building design, application, evaluation, training, energy end uses, including technical and financial aspects of energy efficiency, demand response and/or distributed generation strategies and equipment Proficient personal computer skills (Microsoft applications, spreadsheet/database skills, basic programming skills). Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation. Knowledge of sustainable building practices and technologies Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information. Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors. Ability to take ownership of tasks and seek input when needed. Knowledge of California Building Efficiency Standards (Title 24, Part 6) Knowledge of Cost Effectiveness Calculator tool (CET), Database for Energy Efficient Resources (DEER), Remote Ex-Ante Database Interface (READI) and California eTRM. Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
