Coolest Hotel Uniform Company in the U.S. is seeking an experienced South Florida based Apparel Designer to join our Production Team. Position Overview:
As a member of our Apparel Design Team, you will work with our designers on Hospitality and Corporate apparel programs, including female and male collections that align with Brand design briefs and our company’s aesthetic. You will report directly to the Director of Apparel Design.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with VP & Design Director in market research & line review.
- In collaboration VP & Design Director - identify & define new styles.
- Identify new product details (primary materials, silhouette, color, fit & overall aesthetic, including product updates.)
- Concept of client-specific print artwork, styles, and accessories.
- Collaborate with Sales Designer/rep on new garment modifications.
- Ensure apparel design aligns with Brand aesthetic & target cost.
- Provide initial/ approved prototype for development & modifications.
- Development of initial tech packs for custom styles, including custom accessories for clients & garment modifications.
- In collaboration with PD, oversee & evaluate product details (main materials, fit, and aesthetic)
- Evaluate and approve fabric & trim submits. Issue comments for development.
- Attend fit sessions and provide detailed comments to the PD team and patternmakers.
- Work with local sample/ patternmaker when developing samples domestically. Provide directions & comments.
- Maintain & develop custom contractor relationships.
- Ensure quality of both custom and assembly styles meet Brand’s standards.
- Collaborate with the sales designer and sales rep in Line sheet creation for new & approved styles.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in fashion design or related field (preferred)
- 3-5 years of experience in Apparel Design.
- CAD (Photoshop/Illustrator/ InDesign)
- Microsoft Office (Excel/ Word)
- PLM a plus.
