Icon is seeking a Recovery Specialist to join our amazing recovery team! This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to join a growing organization. This position is responsible for collecting on delinquent accounts while maintaining Icon’s standard for member relations. Come be a part of our team!
Assist members in developing plans to bring delinquent accounts to a current status.
Work within a professional environment, in the best interest of the credit union and its members.
Perform collection activities on delinquent loans, VISA, and negative share accounts within State and Federal (FDCPA) guidelines.
Assist with cancelling GAP/service warranties on repossessed loans.
Determine when to recommend/negotiate workout agreements, compromise and settle balances, or to initiate foreclosure action or repossess collateral.
File small claims, judgement, process garnishments, work with attorneys, and assign accounts to 3rd party collections company.
Perform skip trace activities and collect on charged off balances.
Resolve consumer credit reporting disputes.
Perfect and release collateral for consumer loans, i.e. titles, UCCs, etc.
Requirements
Applicants are subject to a background and credit check.
In-depth collections and charge off recoveries experience
One year of similar or related customer service experience required
High school diploma or equivalent
Two to three years of collection experience preferred
Demonstrated experience with handling bankruptcy accounts
Demonstrated understanding of the bankruptcy and collections legal processes
A significant level of trust, accountability and diplomacy are required, in addition to courtesy and tact
