What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk (Lumberton) position at Idaho Forest Group?
Idaho Forest Group is currently seeking a Shipping Clerk to join our team.
This is a liaison position between production, shipping, sales and the public. Coordinates day-to-day shipping process.
Essential Functions:
- Overall shipping office management to ensure accurate and proper lumber loading.
- Communicate all shipping related details with the Shipping Lead and Sales Staff.
- Greet truck drivers, provide loading directions, Direct traffic flow, monitor tarping station.
- Assist shipping operations as assigned to wrap lumber, move lumber, load trucks and secure cables on rail cars.
- Functional use of Inventory System (Lumber Tracks) software to prepare shipping documents. Accurately scan tags.
- Accurately prepare reports and shipping documents for loads.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
- Assist with monthly inventory as needed.
- Maintain clean shipping yard and tarping station.
- Consistently work at acceptable production levels.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a shipping and/or transportation function
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use the Inventory Management System (Lumber Tracks)
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Self-motivated and able to multi-task
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a drug, physical, and background check
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distance, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, airborne particles (sawdust).

As a condition of employment, Idaho Forest Group requires applicants to complete a variety of pre-employment screening processes which may include, but are not limited to: criminal background check, drug and substance test, reference check, prior work verification, driving history (MVR), physical screening, education verification, aptitude/skills testing, and credit checks. The depth of screening will vary based on the position. Driver will be subject to a DOT regulated pre-hire drug and alcohol testing and if hired will be put in for random selection going forward.
