Job Description: Accounting I
Supervised By: CFO
We are a busy medical office seeking a full-time, in-person accounting assistant to perform a variety of duties. Payroll experience necessary. QuickBooks knowledge is preferred. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to work independently and have a strong ability to multi-task. Exceptional organizational and communication skills are required. The ideal candidate will present themselves to work with a positive and friendly attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Perform reconciliations for general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, balance sheet accounts, and other accounts as necessary
- Perform period close activities including processing of journal entries, batch transactions, variance analysis, and general ledger coding
- Assist in design, implementation, and ongoing execution of accounting controls over cash, financial statement accuracy, etc.
- Input daily entries for bank activity and ledgers
- Process payments received from customers
- Participate in the annual budgeting process as needed
- Support and collaborate with other team members as needed
- Other duties as assigned by CFO
Requirements:
Essential knowledge, skills and abilities needed to succeed:
- A minimum of two years of experience in accounting including general ledger exposure.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office software, intermediate Excel skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative work style, and the ability to communicate timely to provide high levels of customer service.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting concepts.
Additional preferred skills and abilities:
- A preference for consistent and scheduled tasks.
- The ability to split time between specific tasks and client service.
- Proactively approach problem solving and look for opportunities for business improvement.
Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma, and some college equivalent
- 2 years of experience in financial accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook
- Capable of creating general ledger journal entries
- Full understanding of accounts receivable
- Experience in payroll operations
- Microsoft Office experience
- QuickBooks experience preferred

Salary : $36,500 - $46,200
