Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Network and Communications group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Video Conferencing Technician (T27)! Our team works an on-site 9x80 schedule located at our Energy Innovation Laboratory (EIL) with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain and run video conferencing systems with no supervision during important Lab director level live events. Troubleshoot and correct issues as they arise during live events with little to no impact to meetings.
  • Execute a preventative maintenance schedule on all high-profile conference spaces. Test and maintain video conferencing systems in preparation for important live events. Anticipate issues with equipment and correct before live events.
  • Apply basic and advanced principles, theories, and concepts in providing for the installation, operation, and maintenance of INL voice and video communications systems.
  • Requires performance that independently evaluates, selects, and applies scientific/technical techniques to solve projects of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Works with customers throughout BEA, and with other INL based tenants, while representing Communications Infrastructure.
  • Supports a diverse base of individual customers and projects, contributing to the successful completion of projects for DOE, BEA, Idaho Clean Up Project, Naval Reactor Facilities, NOAA, USGS and other INL tenant organizations, including installation, operation, and maintenance support for National & Homeland Security Directorate programs (including the Wireless Test Bed Program).
  • Be familiar with and contribute to team process and assigned support activities.
  • Independently interacts with peers at the group level and reports problems and possible solutions to management.
QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum Requirements:

  • High School and 2-6 years live conference technical experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" / "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Certifications: Crestron Technician, Crestron Flex, and Biamp Tesira

Job Information

  • Salary Grade TS0300: 170 ($55,656 - $89,112) / Salary Grade TS0400: 180 ($62,640 - $100,224)

  • TDP: Testing designated position; It will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of employment.
