Description:
The objective of the ACE Engineering Services activities is to assist the Endpoint Technology Group (DCG) implementing new features and services for Endpoint Technology (formally ITEA) through assessing and testing new technologies and support processes. Of particular importance to the DCG is the ability of the Resources to understand and operate within an Active Directory environment.
The Work will be completed during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, although the possibility of working outside normal hours cannot be ruled out.
Highly specialized in one or more phases of software systems development, systems integration, or network engineering. Provides technical assistance and advice on complex activities. Formulates / defines specifications, develops / modifies / maintains complex systems and subsystems, using vendor engineering releases and utilities for overall operational systems.
Applies analytical techniques when gathering information from users, defining work problems, designing technology solutions, and developing procedures to resolve the problems. Develops complete specifications to enable computer programmers to prepare required programs. Analyzes methods of approach. Reviews task proposal requirements, gathers information, analyzes data, prepares project synopses, compares alternatives, prepares specifications, resolves processing problems, coordinates work with programmers and engineers, and orients users to new systems. Works with considerable freedom to make decisions on the techniques and approaches to be used. Prepares recommendations for system improvement for management and user consideration.
Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
Education:
- A minimum of eight (8) to twelve (12) years relevant experience.
- A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individuals degree is not in the applicable field, then four additional years of related experience is required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Six years of experience progressively working with the more difficult aspects of Windows with two (4) years experience in the last three years in planning, architecting, developing, testing, and implementing PC LANs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to formulate and document proposed LAN system and operating system solutions with comprehensive, quantitative, and qualitative terms appropriate for comparative analysis SCCM server, Terminal Server, Site Server, Remote Access Server, DHCP, WINS, and DNS.
- Active Directory Server Integration - base operating systems, software distribution, security settings, updates, and level three problem management support.
- Active Directory - design and implementation, group policies, security groups, GPO, PKI, ADFS 2, user and computer objects, logon authentication, scripts, replication, forest and domains, release management, production, user/account provisioning, LDAP/application support and third level problem management support.
- Remote Management - Active Directory engineering and redesign of remote management tools especially SCCM, SCOM, MOSS, DNS and WSUS and third level problem management support.
- Program language knowledge of VBS, C , PowerShell, Perl, and JAVA
- Working knowledge of state-of-the-art LAN systems hardware, software techniques, and concepts including OSI model, repeaters, bridges, routers, gateways, TCP/IP, SNMP protocols, IEEE Ethernet, and cable standards.
- Ability to design, install, implement, support, and troubleshoot Microsofts BackOffice, Windows server, Exchange server, Internet Information Server (IIS), Microsoft SQL server, Content Replication, Internet News, NetMeeting, SCCM server, Terminal Server, Site Server, Remote Access Server, DHCP, WINS, and DNS.
- Demonstrated experience with hardware and software testing, integration, installation, configuration, and problem solving; especially for Windows 7/10 clients and Windows Server, and Microsoft Office
- Other Windows related Engineering activities as requested by Client from time to time during the Period of Performance.
