Small interior design studio seeking a Bookkeeper (part-time) for a small office that is quick on their toes and love working with numbers in a creative environment. The position is a 4 day work week to start and must be able to work during normal business hours in our Silver Spring office.
Bookkeeper (part-time) Responsibilities and Duties:
Candidate will perform all day to day bookkeeping functions through Quick Books, to include multi-company transactions and accounting, general ledger entry and tracking, and accounts payable and receivable responsibilities light HR skills. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing monthly cost reviews;
- Coordinating year-end audit functions with external auditing/accounting firms and providing annual 1099 filings;
- Work with our outside CPA firm on tax prep;
- Providing project cost analysis and monitoring cash flow
- Reconciling bank and credit card statements;
- Reviewing budget and contract agreements;
- Daily Interactions with Clients, Vendors, and Suppliers;
- Providing financial information to lenders;
- Effective time management, prioritizing, and forward planning skills;
- Managing paper and digital file maintenance; and coordinating third party payroll and assisting with human resources and/or benefits management.
- Participate in Zoom meetings and/or calls with clients to review financial reporting, and other client meetings
- Microsoft Office 365: Excel & Outlook required (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams a plus)
- Quarterly cash flow analysis understanding to create reports
- Knowledge of various cash apps
Our Ideal Bookkeeper (part-time) Candidate Possesses:
- Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks (QuickBooks certification a plus);
- Knowledge of SOV/ % Billing is helpful and various interior design platforms
- We work with Houzz Pro and QuickBooks. Please only apply if you are proficient in at QuickBooks and willing to learn an additional software.
- Certified payroll is helpful
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (drop down list, pivot tables, etc.);
- 5 years of bookkeeper and/or finance experience;
- A professional appearance;
- Incredible organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with customers/clients
- A keen attention to detail, the ability to multitask and work independently; and
- A “can-do” attitude, a willingness to have fun, and the ability to not take themselves too seriously!
- Strong work ethic
