We are currently seeking an Career Services Specialist to join our team at our Van Nuys Campus. In this position you will be responsible for administering IEC’s job placement program by ensuring a successful student placement experience for the campus’ students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Complies with applicable federal and state laws and regulations, accreditor standards, and institutional policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to student job placement.

Identifies developing and securing relationships with employers to hire students/graduates of IEC programs through externship to hire and direct hire job order opportunities.

Prepares students for job placement readiness for externship and future employment through relationship building, resume development and interview preparation.

Delivers and coordinates career development workshops and other student professional development functions and events.

Provides group and individual career-related coaching sessions for students and graduates.

Meets or exceeds job placement objectives as established by accrediting agencies, the state and IEC.

Keeps detailed and accurate records relating to externship and job search process for each student/graduate in IEC’s database.

Provides feedback and advice to the Associate Director/Director of Career Services regarding the state of the job market for the assigned program/program portfolio.

Proposes best practices and initiatives to improve specific functional areas such as business/job development, student activation, student mentorship and coaching, student professional development, and Extern to Hire.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Some college or trade school preferred.

Must be able to work independently and exercise discretion and good judgment.
