Job Summary:

The AV Programmer is well-rounded and experienced in commercial Audio/Visual systems. This individual will have strong industry knowledge of best practices and installation standards consistent with InfoComm and manufacturers’ specifications. The AV Programmer will have experience with Crestron (required) and AMX (optional) programming.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- The AV Programmer interprets AV signal drawings and scopes of work to reasonably assume function and user experience of an AV system.
- The AV Programmer writes source code for simple-complex Commercial Audio/Video systems.
- The AV Programmer creates a GUI and develops a user experience in line with IES standards and project SOW (scope of work) for each project.
- The AV Programmer works with field engineers and superintendents, offering remote support for uploading and testing code and AV systems control of components.
- The AV Programmer provides feedback to AV engineers and project management on experiences with products, schedules, programming, estimation and overall quality control for the AV systems we integrate.
- The AV Programmer collaborates with, contributes to and embraces a fast-paced team environment.
- The AV Programmer will complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- The AV Programmer must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and convey an appropriate professional image.
- The AV Programmer must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
- The AV Programmer must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
- The AV Programmer must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop job processes and best practices.
- The AV Programmer must have high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
- The AV Programmer must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- The AV Programmer must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- The AV Programmer must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
- The AV Programmer is PC & Networking proficient (must already know your way around a computer)
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
- Must have HS Diploma or GED, prefer Bachelor’s degree – formal education in electronics or related field a plus.
- Prefer a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in audio visual or other electro-mechanical installation techniques, or field servicing.
- Crestron programming experience and Crestron Advanced Programming certification is required.
- Experience should include video conferencing - Polycom, Cisco, or LifeSize.
- Must be able to read schematic diagrams and drawings
- Must be proficient with a computer and be skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
- Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
- Must be able to use common trade tools.
