What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner-US position at IEWC Brand?
The Production Planner is responsible for the effective utilization and planning of Production/Service assets and Customer fulfillment planning in the IEWC Distribution Center network. The Production Planner will also need to develop and maintain capacity plans for the DC’s and the services they offer and align Customer orders, inventory and other resources to ensure a high level of Customer service. This involves strategic planning as well as day-to-day monitoring and problem solving, developing and monitoring process indicators and reporting.
What you will do:
Production Planning
- Identify opportunities to reduce the total cost of IEWC’s global supply chain by optimizing the global distribution network.
- Lead the process improvement activities and projects to (re)design as necessary current practices to take advantage of core SAP functionality.
- Lead the development of a capacity production model that includes DC services and respooling, and implement processes to schedule assets and services based on the model.
- Gain and maintain expertise in SAP relevant to Planning, Production, and Materials Management through self-study, attending conferences, attending formal classes and participating in industry groups.
Sales and Operations Planning
- Serve as the lead liaison between Sales, Materials Management, Sourcing and DC Operations to optimize Production Efficiency, Customer Service, Inventory and Asset Utilization.
- Conduct formal and informal meetings with Sales, Customer Service, Materials Management, Sourcing and DC Operations leaders to track capacity utilization on a regular cadence, and solve hotspots in capacity or customer service as they arise.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation or removal of Hub/Spoke distribution methodology for capacity and cost optimization.
Supply Chain Planning
- Lead and/or participate in projects to implement improvements in customer service, inventory investment and supply chain efficiency to achieve measurable results.
- Assist in the maintenance and data mining of information used to support the operational forecasting and planning processes. Review forecasts, sales trends and inventory strategies to support the daily activities of the Supply Chain Planners.
- Develop/update scorecards, dashboards, and exception reports to identify opportunities for improvements within the supply chain.
- Prepare and issue specific daily, weekly and monthly performance reports and distribute to key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- SAP MRP, SAP Capacity Planning, Network Optimization. Ability to work in a Windows environment, to work with your department’s business applications and with standard current computer applications. Proficient in MS Access and Excel
