Manufacturing Production Supervisor
Position title: Manufacturing Production Supervisor
Reports to: Plant Manager or Director of Manufacturing
Supervises: Production Assistants/Production Associates
Position summary:
The individual in this role is responsible for managing the assigned product line to maximum productivity and ensure the smooth and efficient executionof productionplans within the expected quality standards. They will also provide effective coaching to production assistants in managing the daily production duties/goals regarding processes and personnel procedures.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure that employees have the raw and/or in-process work required to meet production criteria.
- Request the weekly shopping list for the warehouse.
- Learn and work with D365 system to ensure all transactions are correctly executed.
- Approved Payroll for all employees under her/his responsibilities
- Provide guidance to the production assistants as needed with training and cross-training employees in new jobs.
- Provide and post daily production results to be reviewed by the Director of Manufacturing
- Helps to document operator efficiency and quality and refer for additional training if required.
- Work with production assistants to ensure production flow runs smoothly.
- Assists with implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Track employee time and attendance.
- Perform cycle counts and year-end inventories with his/her team.
- Prints labels required by the production department and any other computer related tasks as assigned.
- Helps to promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Other duties required as assigned by the Director of Manufacturing
- Provide support to production assistants in following the correct process in case of any accidents that occur on shift. Receive the accident report from the production assistant.
- Interact with the mechanics and request equipment installation as needed.
- Ensure finished products are packed correctly using the NOX system for shipping finished goods.
- In the absence of the production assistant, performs all daily duties to include balancing the production line, meeting shipment priorities and productivity standards.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient in learning procedures, calculations, and new computer software.
- Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have strong leadership skills.
- Solid Understanding of manufacturing operations.
- Ability to provide effective counseling and/or feedback to the employees in case of any deviations from the expected performance or code of ethics.
Education and work experience:
- Associate degree or related/equivalent work experience required.
- Experience in Apparel Manufacturing is a plus.
- Engineering experience strongly considered.
