The new 100-bed facility spans more than 83,000 square-feet, with a one-story area for clinical and support services and a three-story unit for inpatient and outpatient services. We plan to welcome patients into a network of care by partnering with academic, regional and community-based entities.

Qualifications:
Clive Behavioral Health (CBH) is a 134-bed licensed inpatient behavioral health hospital, operating on two campuses in Iowa. Clive Behavioral Health West opened in February 2021 with 100 inpatient beds for adult, child & adolescent patients experiencing a severe behavioral health crisis. Care at this location focuses on crisis management, stabilization and development of a plan to return to community living with, if needed, supportive outpatient services and community services and resources. Clive Behavioral Health Des Moines is a 34-bed inpatient location operated by CBH on the MercyOne Des Moines campus. Care at this location will be for adults experiencing a severe behavioral health crisis.

POSITION SUMMARY


The Health Information (Coder) participates as an integral member of the records management team by ensuring the quality maintenance of patient information/medical records, within all laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies, and TJC standards for the quality of patient care. The Health Information Coder- has the primary responsibility of assigning accurate ICD-10-CM codes upon patient discharge (inpatient and outpatient). Communicates with physicians for any related coding questions. This position will also have Health Information Analyst responsibility for carrying out activities of the Health Information Services Department in the maintenance of all patient medical records.


QUALIFICATIONS


Licensure/Certifications:
RHIT, RHIA or CCS preferred and/or other coder specialist certifications.
Education: Graduation from a medical records program preferred; high school graduate or equivalent required.

Experience: At least one (1) to 5 years’ inpatient/outpatient coding and healthcare management/medical records experience preferred. At least 1 year of behavioral health hospital preferred but not required.
