What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asst. Manager position at Iguana Mia - SWFL?
Asst. Manager position will be an entry level manager position up to an experienced manager position. Asst. Managers are responsible for managing the shift operations of our restaurant, with first priority to ensure that guests are satisfied with their dining experience, along with the second priority which is the supervision and performance management of the 25 staff members working each shift. You will be responsible for the selection and development of future staff members. In addition, you will oversee the sales and labor reporting responsibilities, inventory and ordering of food and supplies, while balancing goals to optimize profits. The Asst. Manager reports directly to the General Manager and the V. P. of Operations or President. Training Salary and starting salary will be determined on your previous work experience and then performance through the first 8-10 weeks of training. Starting Asst. Management salaries may range from $44,000 to $55,000 based on your initiative, knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Some College experience is preferred, especially in the areas of verbal and written communication and mathematical concepts. Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable, but only with practical work experience. A combination of practical experiences including positional restaurant employment experiences, staff supervision experience and strong desire to learn will be considered as an alternative.
- Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel).
- Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, record keeping, and preparation of reports.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Prefer a resident of Cape Coral or Fort Myers
- Must agree to background, social media and credit check.

- Pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance.
- Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards.

- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as controlling food, beverage and labor cost while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities.
- Physical abilities allowing for long hours on your feet, constant motion, fast hands and ability to lift up to 75lbs.
