GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Regional Product Sales Specialist is responsible for managing sales opportunities at all accounts and prospects in their respected regions. The purpose of this position is to work with sales employees to meet or exceed sales goals through the selling of the companys Chainflex products. This position requires exercising independent judgment to perform the responsibilities described herein and does require routine travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and implement effective sales strategies through the territory sales personnel to achieve corporate sales objectives
- Drive profitable growth at assigned accounts where a lead role is required and participate in joint calls with sales team as necessary
- Train new hires through joint sales call exposure to selling Chainflex
- Develop sound knowledge of all corporate capabilities to effectively sell full suite of services
- Participate in developing account strategy and the preparation of bids for national/regional accounts in conjunction with the Chainflex National Sales Manager
- Maintain a pulse on the competition and share market information as it develops in specific region.
- Sales travel to visit new and existing customers to acquire and retain customers, ascertain current needs, and generate additional sales
- Identify and properly qualify new business opportunities using available resources
- Provide customer support by responding to customer inquiries, requests and resolve customer complaints
- Ensure that databases are current and updated with accurate customer information
- Routinely pull and reference system reports for additional sales opportunities
- Execute timely preparation of all expense reports and assigned projects
- Keep management and sales team members informed of all relevant activity
- Participate in industry related tradeshows, blogs, etc.
- Support sales team in every effort to win cable opportunities
- Recognize market trends and opportunities for new product developments related to industries
- Understand cable competitors product offerings and how to sell against (SWOT analysis)
- Manage individual travel and coordinate joint sales calls with sales team
- Submit weekly reports of activity with highlight/lowlights for the week
- Embrace Chainflex brand and help promote, Sell cable, then manage it
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years of technical sales experience in automation with proven track record of success with electrical cables and/or Bachelors degree in engineering
- Excellent interpersonal relations and strong communication, organizational and time management skills required
- High sense of urgency with ability to work in a fast-paced team environment anticipating and adjusting to challenges
- Proficient at Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Minimum 70% travel with ability to go international when needed
- High proficiency in the cable market and industry jargon
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, including as a driver or passenger in an automobile
- Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to visit and move around at construction and other work sites, including the ability to maneuver in tight or small places for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh between 25 to 50 pounds
