Your day to day
- Manage all aspects of sales cycle, while achieving specific individual and team goals.
- Manage incoming leads as the lead catcher for the sales department. This includes verifying availability & rates, preparing, presenting, and negotiating group proposals and contracts to drive groups & meetings revenue for the hotel.
- Partner with Outside Sales team to execute and generate proposals, RFPs, and contracts.
- Maintain directory of past, repeat, and potential group/transient/catering business.
- Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner with attention to detail
- Document all sales interactions in a clear, concise manner.
- Effectively communicate the client's needs with all relevant departments by facilitating billing, food and beverage arrangements and any special requests.
- Communicates regularly with various department involved in servicing accounts.
- Conducts site inspections, meets with and entertain clients as needed
- Obtain, document and route all necessary information on definite groups, including billing information, credit application, rooming list and VIP arrangements. Details on meeting arrangements, menus, audio-visual arrangements, etc., should be documented and passed on to conference services manager for follow up.
- Manage individual business travel business by managing transient RFP, rate loading and rate auditing
- May perform other duties as assigned
What we need from you
- 1-2 years sales or marketing related experience in hotel or equivalent
- Strong understanding of hotel selling cycle
- Strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Team player with a guest centric attitude to do the right thing, think creatively, be an active listener with excellent presentation skills
- Talk and listen to clients, demonstrating excellent sales skills by knowing and selling product in a professional and courteous manner
- Knowledge of Delphi/Amadeus, Cvent, RFP platforms, Passkey, Microsoft Office and experience using Excel
- May be required to work varying schedules to include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and providing exceptional guest experiences
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong attention to detail is necessary in this role
- May need to carrying or lift items weighing up to 25 pounds on occasion
- Understanding of mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
- Enjoys problem solving, using reasoning skills, and motivating others.
