Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Medicaid Waiver Manager to complete and direct staff in planning, policy analysis, standards/rules development and monitoring activities for the Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waivers for adults and children with developmental disabilities. Monitors staff in the evaluation of Medicaid Waiver data collection, provider and individual enrollment and claims processing for the HCBS waivers. Directs agency-wide statistical and analytical reviews of Medicaid Waiver programs for persons with developmental disabilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as Medicaid Waiver Manager.
- Serves as full line supervisor.
- Monitors staff in the evaluation of Medicaid Waiver data collection, provider and individual enrollment and claims processing for the HCBS waivers, identification of problems or issues and implementation of corrective actions, coordination with computer system development staff and other staff to develop solutions and writing of instructions for changes.
- Directs agency-wide statistical and analytical reviews of Medicaid Waiver programs for persons with developmental disabilities.
- Reviews, redesigns and monitors implementation of training and technical assistance to Medicaid waiver providers, service coordinators, department staff and others.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.
- Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
Preferred Qualifications (in priority order)
- Three (3) years of professional experience working with Federal and State policies, rules and procedures related to Medicaid for a public or private organization.
- Three (3) years of professional experience analyzing and contributing to the development of programs, policies and procedures related to Medicaid.
- Two (2) years of professional supervisory experience, including assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, training staff and approving time off.
- Three (3) years of professional experience working in an environment dealing with developmental disabilities for a public or private organization.
- Two (2) years of professional experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Two (2) years of basic proficiency using Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook.
