REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or similar field
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills
- Must be able to work as part of a team, take initiative, and meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of computer software including Windows 10 OS, Microsoft
Office suite, and a PDF editor
- Advanced experience in diagnosing, communicating and resolving user issues
- Advanced knowledge of networking, including firewall and network switch configuration
- Experience with routine maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, and servers
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Network or equivalent certification
- Advanced experience in Web design and development, including HTML, CSS, and Javascript
- Experience in programming and/or scripting, especially Python and Powershell
- Database development experience using Microsoft Access and/or MySQL
- Experience administering a Windows network, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, network file systems, remote support software, and two-factor authentication
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS STATED IN PERFORMANCE TERMS:
With limited need for direct supervision, the Information Services Specialist (ISS) III may perform all or some of the following functions depending upon needs of the Office:
Applies skills and actively assists with the maintenance and technical assistance for microcomputers and networks. May oversee the work of staff who are involved in this process.
Develops training programs and actively assists with training for audit staff regarding application of computer software.
Develops or assists in developing database systems. May oversee the work of staff who are involved in this process.
Participates in developing planning documents and system documentation.
Reviews and assesses equipment and supply needs. Obtains price quotes and may negotiate and monitor contracts when assigned.
Assists with maintaining and updating Office information systems.
Develops and implements computerized application systems for OAG functions.
Exercises initiative for self-development by actively seeking increased knowledge of the field of computer operations. Participates actively in on-the job training and other training available through the office. May prepare for career movement to ISS IV.
Performs other assigned or required duties.
