In support of this mission, the System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the information technology infrastructure which requires working with servers, SAN and network switches, storage, software and other technologies to support the organization. The Systems Administrator assists with overall systems administration which requires proficiency in several disciplines.
The System Administrator must maintain and continually improve the environment to provide the highest levels of service to the user base. The Systems Administrator will be required to assess performance of systems to make adjustments, provide capacity planning and growth projections, and perform software installations and upgrades.
The Systems Administrator works both individually and in teams to maintain the operation of various sites. Business operation demands 24/7/365 continuous up time so the incumbent must be able to perform overtime when needed including holidays and weekends. Continuously changing software and hardware platforms require ongoing training and self-directed learning to maintain skill sets. Based on the functions of the Systems Administrator position the incumbent will have Administrative level rights, access to sensitive and confidential information, and must always exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs daily administrative maintenance tasks on servers, storage, network and all other infrastructure equipment including, but not limited to:
- Maintains virtualization platforms
- Maintains disaster recovery solutions including replication technologies.
- Maintains directory services platform including but not limited to Active Directory, Group Policy, and security permissions
- Maintains other core systems including but not limited to O365, Intune, SCCM, SharePoint and SQL Server
- Assists with backups of all systems
- Creates and maintains server and systems documentation
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software including updates and patches
- Communications foundation including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams, mobile devices, and other systems
- Responsible for the deployment projects of new systems (hardware and software):
- Assists in the Design and architecture
- Responsible for deployment and configurations
- Supports in the training of new systems.
- Assists with help desk tickets and end-user support when required.
- Maintains proficiency within the IT industry via:
- Maintaining certifications
- Performs self-study to keep abreast of new software and hardware technologies
- Attends technical conferences and seminars
- Performs and assists with other departmental duties as required including project work or long-term items
Qualifications
Education (Required)
- High School Diploma or GED
Skills and Experience (Required)
- Minimum of seven (7) plus years of systems administration experience in a corporate or enterprise environment
- Experience with VMWare, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint and other core Microsoft Technologies
Education and Experience (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or a related field of study
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Systems Center Suite, Microsoft AZURE, Microsoft INTUNE
- Experience with VMWARE VSAN, VMWARE SRM, VMWARE NSX
- Experience with storage solutions(e.g. NAS, iSCSI, SAN, and fiber switches).
- Experience in backup software and systems (e.g. Netbackup, Networker, DataDomain, IDPA, ECS, and Avamar)
- Experience in enterprise class antivirus tools with centralized management (e.g. Trend, Microsoft, AMP solutions)
- Experience with Citrix XENAPP / Desktop, Citrix Netscaler
- Technical certifications (e.g. MCP, MCTS, MCITP)

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
