Job Responsibilities
35% 1. Performs manual labor and routine clerical record keeping tasks.
- Receives, unloads, and stores documents arriving at the department's Record Center for storage and/or disposal
- Lifts and unloads boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
25% 2. Retrieves and transports documents to and from the state archives, state records center, or to disposal location.
15% 3. Operates ladders with lifts, pallet jacks, and electric loading dock for records management and transportation.
10% 4. Locates proper boxes when records are requested to be returned to client. Retrieves files and re-files in proper location when returned to the records center.
5% 5. Transports records to and from the Hanley Building. Unloads boxes weighing up to 50 pounds from pallets when requested for scanning.
5% 6. Updates inventory systems in SharePoint. Retrieves records on microfilm and prints or converts to digital images.
5% 7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the score of those enumerated above.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of high school.
2. Requires elementary knowledge of storeroom methods and procedures as well as shipment methods.
3. Requires a valid driver's license.
Conditions of Employment
1. Requires successful completion of a background investigation.
2. Requires ability to lift, carry, and transport 35-50 pound boxes.
3. Requires ability to stoop and bend.

The successful candidate will perform manual labor and routine clerical record keeping tasks in receiving, storing, shipping and care of documents in the warehouse of the Illinois Department of Transportation's Records Center.
