Our client in San Luis Obispo County, CA has an immediate opening for a Kitchen Manager on a direct hire basis.

Kitchen Manager:
The Kitchen Manager oversees the kitchen operations including personnel, cooking, food preparation, sanitation, and inventory management based on the goals, objectives, and standards of the company. The ideal individual will have a servant’s heart, an eye for detail and a passion for food.
Provide a model of supportive and participatory leadership promoting the concepts of collaboration and team building.
Oversee the monitoring and managing of all controllable expenditures within the established budget to maximize sales, gross margin, net profit, and control shrink.
Negotiate with suppliers for favorable prices, terms, quality, and delivery.
Purchase food and products following company guidelines and marketing plan.
Receive orders and ensure proper receiving by other staff in accordance with established procedures.
Coordinate with suppliers for the handling of returns and obtaining credit for returned product.
Ensure that kitchen, displays, aisles, prep, and storage areas are maintained clean and orderly.
Perform cooler and sales floor temperature audits on a regular basis.
Perform equipment checks and report any issues to management.
Plan visually appealing prepared food displays.
Establish standards for food preparation to meet quality, pricing, margin control, and customer expectations.
Respond to customer suggestions, comments, and complaints in a timely manner.
Directly manage the department’s schedules while following all company, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct performance evaluations and on-the-job training.
Actively manage, maintain, and enforce company safety programs and standards.
Help direct and maintain inventory levels and food quality standards to meet company objectives.
Understand, implement required programs, manage, and monitor compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Kitchen Manager Background Profile:
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in food preparation or equivalent experience
Minimum Of 3 Years’ Experience Managing Teams
Must have basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
Ability to lift loads frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Continuous interaction with customers and co-workers
