Join our team as a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist in beautiful Ketchikan, AK. We offer a competitive salary, signing bonus, bonus incentives, and paid relocation.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team on a full-time basis. This position offers variable shifts to accommodate our patients' needs.
In this role, you will utilize your medical knowledge and technical skills to perform routine and specialized CT procedures. You will interact with patients to provide them with quality care and accurate diagnostic information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they meet the requirements of each requested procedure.
- Organize daily work schedule and handle necessary clerical duties.
- Optimize examinations by integrating previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records.
- Consult with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician to determine the most appropriate examination for each patient.
- Provide patient education and instruction before and after examinations. Offer training and education to staff and students as needed.
- Adapt exams to address any problems that arise during patient care.
- Operate CT scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction, and documentation of images. Ensure quality control measures are followed.
- Ensure radiation safety for self-patient and visitors, applying the ALARA principle. Evaluate patients for pregnancy prior to the exam.
- Perform interventional procedures using equipment, supplies, and AORN standards.
- Perform additional patient care activities as assigned within the scope of practice, training, experience, and license/certification/registration.
- Complete other assigned duties.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology program required.
- Preference given to candidates with at least one year of previous experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of age-specific principles and venipuncture competency.
- PACS/RIS knowledge is required.
- Experience with EPIC RIS, FUJI, and IntelliSpace PACS preferred.
- ARRT (R) Certification required.
- State-required certification/registration/licensure for trained modality.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification required at date of hire.
