About the Role
As a Sales Executive - Printers - on our Equipment and Solutions team, you will be responsible for advising Image Star clients on our print device offerings and managed print solutions. You are a print industry expert that brings a consultative approach to selling. You will partner with Image Star’s account executive team and our manufacturers’ regional sales managers as an expert adviser, specialist sales executive, and primary point of contact focused on our equipment and solutions capabilities for clients. To thrive, you will need to sign up dealers for Image Star’s printer and managed print offerings, ensure Image Star is their first-choice supplier, and support them as a specialist adviser to help them grow their end user business.
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned accounts’ equipment and solutions needs
- Partner with our account executive team to identify equipment and solutions sales opportunities within the existing Image Star client base
- Partner with manufacturers’ sales managers to support sell-in to new dealers and to win ongoing fulfilment business
- Assess client needs, and propose appropriate products and services
- Advise clients on how to make the most of manufacturer programs
- Provide guidance to clients on equipment speeds, feeds, and features to help them select the right product for their end user requirements
- Support clients on end user sales by identifying upgrade opportunities, recommending replacement devices, and educating clients on equipment and managed print
90-day success expectations include:
- Effectively articulate Image Star’s value proposition and explain key sales programs and product/service offerings
- Understand the typical market dynamics, needs, pain points, and objections of equipment dealers
- Demonstrate proficiency in our ERP system (JD Edwards) and CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics)
- Complete manufacturer-provided equipment training
- Surpass daily activity quotas of 60 outbound phone calls and 3 hours of outbound call time
Requirements
- At least 5 years’ sales experience in the print or copy industry preferred or comparable experience selling other business technology hardware products required
- Sales experience working at a printer manufacturer preferred (e.g., HP, Brother, Canon, Lexmark, Epson, Kyocera, Xerox)
- Experience selling wholesale to dealers, value-added resellers, or retailers preferred
- Bachelor’s degree from a top tier college or university required or equivalent experience thriving in a B2B sales environment
- Willingness to travel at least once per month to industry trade shows and client offices
- The ability to work onside at least three days per week at our Middletown, CT, headquarters

IT Equipment Policy
We provide a full desktop technology set up for employees working in one of our offices. This includes a desktop computer, monitor(s), keyboard, mouse, and telephone. For employees working remotely or exercising partial remote flexibility under a hybrid program, we do not provide portable IT equipment at this time and instead operate a “Bring Your Own Device” policy for remote work.
Instead, employees working remotely are required to own a computer that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements listed below. Tablets do not meet the requirement (except Surface Pro tablets running standard Windows 10 or 11, not S mode). The computer must be in good working condition.
