Position Overview: The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with team members.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare JE’s as necessary to properly reflect monthly transactions and maintain general ledger integrity.
- Analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts comparing actuals to historical trends, budgets, and/or forecasts.
- Review system integration batches for accuracy prior to posting to general ledger system.
- Prepare account reconciliations for all BS accounts in applicable reconciliation system (Blackline).
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness. Preparing and updating monthly and quarterly reporting packages as appropriate.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and account balances.
- As applicable, oversee physical inventory and/or cycle count processes to ensure general ledger accurately reflects the value of physical inventory. Analyze and prepare variance analysis as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts as necessary.
- Provides support and appropriate documentation for annual year-end audit and mid-year review.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience.
- Proficient in general ledger accounting with clear understanding of GAAP.
- Working knowledge of account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to recognize historical trends and perform variance analysis.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Good written and oral communication is essential.
- Demonstrated curiosity and initiative resulting in learning and continuous improvement.
- Must perform quality work with little or no supervision.
- Intermediate level of Excel proficiency.
- Ability to interact professionally and cooperatively with other team members.
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Accountable for assigned region financial statement support.
- Expected to complete tasks in a timely manner to meet deadlines and communicate to manager and/or director of progress.
- Must be detail oriented with a focus on accuracy.
