The Position
DriverJob Summary
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The list below includes but does not limit the employee to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Loading of all trucks for customer order deliveries.
Delivery of orders to customers, as needed.
Daily routes, some overnight stays may be required
Unloading, inspecting, and inventory of bags and/or pallets returned from customers.
Ensuring that all signed delivery tickets and required paperwork is turned in to the office at the end of each shift.
Hauling waste products to landfill, as needed.
Performing simple automotive repairs, when instructed by Plant Superintendent (such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.)
May be required to use personal vehicle to pick-up parts or run errands if company trucks are not available.
Will be required to use personal cell phone to stay in contact with managers during working hours.
Driver must keep hours logged in the log book.
Responsible for filling out any pre-shift inspection reports and turning them in to Plant Superintendent.
Backup to Forklift Operator, as needed.
Backup to Laborer, as needed.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a clean driving record of three years.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Knowledge of manual and electrical hand tools.
Experience driving and towing loaded trailers.
Experience tarping and strapping loaded trailers.
Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck, and other related motorized equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
One year of related employment truck driving.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Class A CDL License required.
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.
Work involves stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching; bending at the waist. Indoor/outdoor work environment with exposure to weather extremes.
Must be able to perceive the nature of sound, utilize near and far vision, depth perception, provide oral information, and possess the manual dexterity to handle and work with various materials and objects which are essential aspects of this position.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck, and other related motorized equipment.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
One year or related employment in a warehouse environment utilizing a forklift.
