Position Summary
The Buyer OSM / OSP position will be responsible for providing tasks related to supply chain management and subcontract services. Duties include supply chain development & maintenance, placing orders for a variety of subcontract machining and processing services in accordance with technical specifications. Buyer will perform all tactical functions of Purchase Order management which include confirmations, expediting, non-conformances and problem solving.

Responsibilities
- Primary duty includes supply chain management, source, negotiate and purchase of subcontract machining and/or processing services.
- Qualify and exit vendors as required to establish an optimum supplier base.
- Responsible for engaging in short- and long-term negotiations to generate material savings and optimum fulfillment for the organization.
- Responsible for supplier Lead time reduction.
- Develop and manage vendors for On Time Delivery and Quality
- Develop advanced planning and scheduling model based on sales forecast and develop adequate vendor capacity
- Work with Production Department to develop scheduling flow of subcontract services to minimize impact
- Implement and manage vendor audit and approval policies
- Implement and manage policy for technical information flow to vendors
- Implement non-disclosure agreements, periodically audit for compliance
- Implement IMI responsible business initiatives to vendors, measure and report progress
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in supply chain management and material procurement
- UG – B.Tech/B.E – Mechanical, Production/ Industrial, or B.S. in Business Administration is a bonus but not required
- Proven experience of leading sourcing initiative and ability to demonstrate the successful outcome of the task or Direct experience in Sourcing
- Advanced understanding of material grades, heat treatment, machining processes and the cost drivers for each technology.
- Interpret and communicate engineering drawings and specifications
- Track record of identifying suppliers and developing strategic relationships
- Experience with ASME/Nuclear Codes and Regulations is desirable
- Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.) and knowledgeable of ERP systems
- Fluent in English – reading, writing, and verbal
