Substance Abuse Counselor – Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program
iMind Behavioral Health is hiring a part-time evenings Addiction Counselor for Adult and Youth for their intensive outpatient treatment program. Bilingual is a plus!
Responsibilities
Provide group counseling sessions with focus on addiction related topics
Be responsible for a caseload of clients, as identified by program requirements and in accordance with state regulations
Complete required evaluations and assessments, including screening, intake, clinical assessments, ASAM and biopsychosocial histories
Compete individual treatment plans upon client's admission
Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the client's electronic health record and complete monthly treatment reports
Maintain accurate electronic health records on each client and ensure the timely completion of tasks, within 24 hours of service deliver, no later than 72 hours of service delivery
Conduct individual and group sessions based on client's treatment plan goals and level of care
Responsible for maintaining contact with referral sources and other agencies involved in client care (i.e. criminal justice system and housing programs).
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Coordinate with agency and community resources to ensure a through treatment plan
Assist clients with developing a discharge/continuing care plan and connecting to resources needed to reach personal goals both during the course of treatment and in advance to their discharge
Follow up with clients after discharge based on regulatory guidelines until they have been established with other case management/social services
Qualifications
Associates Degree or higher in chemical dependency or related field
2 – 4 years’ experience in behavioral healthcare, specifically addictions or related field.
Must have minimum of Alcohol and Drug Trainee Status or one of the following certification by the State of Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a: alcohol & drug trainee, Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD) or Certified Supervised Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD).
A minimum of one year of work experience in providing substance and/or clinical services
Experience in conducting needs and risk assessments and an understanding of crisis management
