Job purpose
The Product Development Technician role provides support to the product development team in many capacities. This individual has experience in a laboratory setting which allows them to give assistance to Product Development Scientists.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Assist Product Development team in daily tasks
- Making buffers
- Assembling and testing Lateral Flow/Enzyme Immunoassay prototypes
- Assist in moving development projects from concept to product launch as assigned
- Maintain a lab notebook and/or other documentation as required by supervisor
- Lab Cleaning/Maintenance
- Keep dedicated glassware clean and dry
- Make sure biohazard bags are empty
- Re-stock supplies as necessary
- Maintain Product Development
- Equipment/Software as needed
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or equivalent college level coursework in scientific field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong math skills
- Chemistry coursework required; Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology and/or Microbiology/Immunology coursework preferred
- Experience using immunoassay or molecular assay techniques preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
- Ability to work with a team
- 0-2 years experience in a lab setting
