Application Development Manager
Responsibilities
IMP is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven Development Manager to lead IMP's Innovative Technology Practice. You will contribute to the technical development of IMP's service offerings for our high-profile investment management clients. Your role will be not only to help us develop existing applications, but to architect new and innovative tools and solutions to help deliver our consulting projects on time and on budget.
You will participate in technical and design discussions with senior management team members and manage the development lifecycle from prototype to release. You will also work closely with our team to accelerate time to market for new tools and technical solutions while keeping abreast of key technology developments.
Ideal candidate will have knowledge of/experience in:
Boston, MA or Virtual (if in New England area) - up to 10% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

You will contribute to the technical development of IMP's service offerings for our high-profile investment management clients. Your role will be not only to help us develop existing applications, but to architect new and innovative tools and solutions to help deliver our consulting projects on time and on budget.
You will participate in technical and design discussions with senior management team members and manage the development lifecycle from prototype to release. You will also work closely with our team to accelerate time to market for new tools and technical solutions while keeping abreast of key technology developments.
Ideal candidate will have knowledge of/experience in:
- Cloud/SaaS based infrastructure technologies
- Deploying, running and managing web applications
- Release management and versioning/source control
- Test planning with automated testing solutions
- Virtual environments and datacenters
- Troubleshooting software systems, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutions
- Working on complex projects that require subject matter expertise
- Software engineering best practices
- Developing web applications in the investment management industry
- Proven track record in leading Agile development teams
- Strong proficiency in the JavaScript object model, C#, HTML 5, CSS, and MS Visual Studio
- Experience with either React.js, Vue.js, Angular, or AngularJS, and their core principles (Vue.js preferred)
- Experience with Python and Machine Learning/AI.
- Experience with styled components such as Vuetify
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON
- Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
- Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Experience in benchmarking and optimization
- Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git
- Proficient in data design using Microsoft SQL Server and writing queries, views, triggers and stored procedures
- Experience in using DevExpress/DevExtreme preferred
- Proficient in deploying and managing web applications in Microsoft Azure
- Undergraduate Degree from an Accredited College or University in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience developing SaaS based applications
- Excellent technical design, problem solving, debugging and communication skills
- Solid written and oral communication skills
