What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mold Setter position at Impact Molding?
JOB SUMMARY:
To pull and set injection molds in the press and prepare press for production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform mold changes, robot and auxiliary equipment changes with setup for each mold change
- Set up auxiliary equipment such as terminators, temperature controls, robots, conveyor belts, and air regulators.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance to molding machines and molds such as filling hydraulic oil and grease units.
- Prepare press for production after the mold has been set including knockout rods, material dryers, hopper loaders, and any other equipment necessary for production.
- Cleans out grinders, hoppers, dye loaders, and other material handling equipment by dismantling, cleaning, and reassembling basic components.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Enter and confirm injection molding process is to standard
- Start-up a job from established process
- Help start presses to begin the shifts
- All other duties assigned
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May be asked to perform basic molding functions to assist a Mold Technician such as pulling runners, purging a press, and changing materials.
- Assists with regrind and breaks when not occupied in above duties.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3 years minimum injection mold setting experience
· Good understanding of injection molding principles
· Good understanding of plant and environmental safety
· Good understanding of statistical methods of monitoring processes and product quality
· Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic components
· Good understanding of trouble shooting industrial equipment
· Ability to speak and write English
· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
