Job Title: Psychiatrist
Location: Palmer, Alaska
Salary: We offer a competitive salary package for the right candidate, including a $100K commencement bonus, relocation allowance, and CME assistance. Medical education debt repayment up to $150K is also available.
Job Summary: We are looking for a Psychiatrist to join our team in Palmer, Alaska. You will be employed by an acute behavioral health unit, primarily working with adults and occasionally adolescents. You will have the flexibility to choose your schedule, either 7 on/7 off or Monday – Friday. You will be joining a team of 3 advanced practitioners. The role is primarily inpatient with plans to expand to outpatient. Experienced physicians and new graduates are both welcomed and J1 support is available.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and treat mental illnesses through a combination of psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and medication
• Provide therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups
• Evaluate psychological and physical factors that may be causing mental health issues
• Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary
• Refer patients to other healthcare professionals and community resources
• Remain up-to-date on the latest advancements in psychiatry

Qualifications:
• MD or DO degree in psychiatry
• Board certification or board eligibility in psychiatry
• Active Alaska license or ability to obtain
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience and Skills:
• Experience working in a behavioral health setting
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Knowledge of psychological testing and assessment techniques
