What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Specialist position at Impact Solutions?
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer (Entry Level) to become an integral part of our team! You will assist in the research, design and development of electrical components and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and install electrical components and systems
- Assess and modify existing power distribution systems
- Troubleshoot relay and data system designs
- Research and document relay test results
- Track project time lines to complete tasks on schedule
- Ensure reliable operation of equipment
- Provides input, reviews and may prepare shop drawings and wiring diagrams, based on project plans and specifications, showing location of devices, equipment, and wiring etc.
- Advises Senior Engineer regarding appropriate products needed for installation, identifying any items which have longer lead times, and tracking materials on an ongoing basis to ensure timely arrival/delivery to the project site.
Qualifications:
A minimum of two years of previous, relevant low-voltage and medium voltage systems experience required
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
- Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to the electrical and mechanical aspects of electrical power accessories. building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems
- Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
- Must be an initiative-taker and work well without supervision
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper)
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); previous exposure to AutoCAD viewing software.
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, or Medium and low-voltage systems design coursework preferred.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
