Schedule: Monday to Friday with rotating weekends
Clinic hours: 7am-6pm (schedule dependent on the provider you work)
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lead Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care and support our medical staff in delivering exceptional healthcare services.
- Patient Interaction: Greet, assess, and answer patient inquiries both in-person and over the phone.
- Medical Documentation: Record vital signs, chief complaints, and other pertinent information; update and manage patient records in the EHR system.
- Test Monitoring: Track, communicate, and ensure test results are available for the provider.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with the care team for pre-visit planning and anticipate potential issues.
- Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare examination rooms, manage and sterilize instruments, and restock supplies.
- Specimen Handling: Assist in specimen collection, labeling, and transportation to the lab; explain procedures to patients.
- Patient Scheduling: Schedule tests, provide instructions, and manage appointment reminders.
- Patient Education: Provide educational materials and instructions based on the provider's recommendations.
- Discharge Process: Complete patient discharge with instructions and follow-up details.
- Medication Management: Understand and explain medication usage, answer questions, and forward prescriptions to pharmacies.
- Administrative Tasks: Participate in clinic meetings, send faxes, and handle biohazardous waste.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the office manager and MA staff, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience, ideally in a Family Practice setting.
- National Certification is preferred but not required (pay differential offered).
- Experience with EKGs, PFTs, and immunizations is advantageous.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (NextGen experience is a plus).
- Must be enthusiastic, positive, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively as part of a care team.

- Must be detail-oriented and a proactive problem solver.
- Be flexible and able to take direction and work well with others.
- Capable of handling occasionally stressful situations.
