Transportation Intern - Fall 2023

As an intern at Imperial, we'll help you design an experience that meets your learning objectives while helping you explore how the areas of our business relate and interact. You'll enjoy a variety of day-to-day work assignments, cross-functional meetings, exposure to executive leadership, and soft skill development.
Imperial Supplies is a growing distributor of fleet maintenance products. We've been based in Green Bay since 1958 and have a strong history of double-digit annual growth!
Potential learning outcomes:
- Work on a team that is responsible for managing Imperial's entire freight network
- Cross functional opportunities to work with Distribution, Procurement, Pricing, and more throughout our organization
- Create optimized delivery strategies for key customers throughout the country
- Experience the transportation industry from the inside; learn about best practices and terminology to help grow in Supply Chain Management
Potential day-to-day responsibilities
- Schedule inbound deliveries from vendor to DC
- Troubleshoot delivery issues at customer locations
- Arrange and manage field service project delivery schedule
- Assist with month end reporting and presentation slides
- Quote LTL and Parcel freight for customers and various Imperial teams
Internship requirements
- Active enrollment in a 2 or 4 year accredited college in a relevant course of study
- Strong oral and written communications skills, and be able to work effectively and build relationships with others
- Good organization and planning skills
- Detail oriented
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint)
