Description
This position will oversee the development of Impulse’s engineering office/manufacturing facility located in Redondo Beach, CA. As well as the company’s propulsion engine test site located in Mojave, CA. You will be responsible for all new and continuing construction projects for both infrastructures. This includes maintaining and overseeing the company's buildings, grounds, equipment and managing construction projects to ensure a safe and functional workspace. You will also be negotiating contracts with service providers and inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all new construction projects with direct or indirect management thru contractors.
- Ensure all work is being performed correctly, on-budget, and on-time.
- Responsible for all facilities operations (I.e., construction, build-out, security, janitorial, landscaping, transportation, safety and general maintenance)
- Manage third-party vendors and service providers, ensure projects and services are meeting our standards and terms of the contract.
- Obtain necessary building permits with City or Redondo Beach and Mojave Air & Space Port
- Ensure we are code compliant and meeting all local and federal regulations (I.e., OSHA, EHS, ADA)
- Develop, plan, and execute site facility improvement projects as planned.
- Manage the maintenance, repair, installation of all infrastructure, buildings, HVAC equipment, high power electrical systems, water infrastructure and grounds.
- Quote projects and ensure good rates for the scope of work.
- Partner with the manufacturing team on the installation and maintenance of production equipment.
- Manage simple electrical/plumbing/HVAC activity.
- Coordinate support for critical and emergency activities
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of professional experience with facilities engineering, general contracting or commercial building management
- Experience managing budgets
- Experience managing third-party vendors
- Experience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum value
- Knowledge of building management and automated facility monitoring systems and process such as HVAC Systems, fluid plumbing systems, fire suppression systems, generators, or fuel storage systems
- Experience with local, state and federal building regulations (i.e., OSHA, EHS, ADA)
- High attention to detail and cleanliness standards
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-starter, doesn't need constant supervision/direction
- Positive get-it-done attitude and ability to execute
- Ability to anticipate needs and develop innovative solutions for continuous improvement
- Willingness to provide afterhours support for critical activities and emergency situations.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Current hold or previously held General Contractor License
- Experience with asset management software
- Proximity to the building is highly desirable
- Knowledge/ability to perform basic machine maintenance on a set schedule
- Ability to work extended hours as needed

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
