Tasks
Job overview
The Tool Shop Technician III should be able to use manual machines, perform repairs and provide supervisory duties in specified area.
Responsibilities
• Assembling and disassembling of injection mold and stamping dies
• Preventive maintenance and cleaning of injection molds
• Performing fine adjustments of cavities inserts, gear racks etc.
• Advanced trouble shooting
• Performing advanced repairs
• Mold improvements
• Mold inspection and replacement of standard components
• Operating overhead crane
• Operating manual machines (lathe, grinder, mill etc.)
• Spare part management
• Organize and supervise assigned work area
• Reporting all repairs and maintenance tasks in the system
• Following International Automotive Task Force quality standards – IATF 16949
• Escalation of issues to manager
• Team work – assisting others with daily tasks
• Following Internal Quality Issues procedure – IQI
• Ensuring safety rules and policies are followed
• Housekeeping – 5S-Standard
• Other duties assigned
Job Requirements
Education requirements
• Technical education preferred
• Work experience with injection molds or stamping dies in a high volume manufacturing environment:
Minimum 4 years, desired 5 years or more
Skills requirements
• Good reading comprehension of work instructions
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good ability to work in a team environment
• Good organizational skills
• Detail orientated
• Knowledge of injection molding process
• Advanced logical hands-on problem solving
• Mechanical background
• Advanced machining experience
• Ability to read blueprints (GD&T – Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance)
• Good knowledge of measurement devices (e.g. height gauge, micrometer, pin gauge etc.)
• Intermediate computer skills
• Ability to read schematics
• Strong understanding of metric system
Physical requirements
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs. using material handling equipment
• Constant standing, walking, handling, using fingers, reaching outward, reaching above shoulders, kneeling and bending
• Occasional sitting
